Russellville School Resource Officers

 

The mission of the Russellville School Resource Officers is to promote and facilitate training and communication among School Resource Officers, Educators, and Students. We must be dedicated to providing a safe learning environment for our Students and Staff within our school community, and must lead by example by living under the good principals of good citizenship and community responsibility in front of our greatest assets….OUR CHILDREN!

 

The Responsibilities of School Resource Officers:

• Educator- Visit classrooms and make presentations on Safety, Traffic Laws, General Law, and Crime Prevention. SRO’s work with educators to create these programs

• Law Enforcement- Working with School Administrators the SRO’s primary duty is to investigate Criminal Violations which involve students as suspects or victims.

• Counselor- Students are encouraged to seek individual attention from the SRO’s. The SRO is available for conferences with Students, Parents, and Staff on issues or problems arising within the City School System.

• SRO’s are used for School Security during regular school hours and special events to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all our students.

• SRO’s serve as a liaison between the City School System and the Russellville Police Department.
